The Oklahoma State University College of Human Sciences has recognized eight students as 2019 Seniors of Distinction, the highest honor given to graduating seniors by the college. Faculty in each of four academic units in the College of Human Sciences – the Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising; the Department of Human Development and Family Science; the Department of Nutritional Sciences; and the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management – selected two Seniors of Distinction for their respective units.

Teacher Feature: Michelle Rahn

Michelle Rahn graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in Teaching, Learning and Leadership, option in mathematics and science education. An 11-year teaching veteran, Rahn currently teaches science and gifted science at Will Rogers Junior High School in Claremore, Okla. Rahn also coaches an after-school science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) club.

OSU hospitality and tourism management program fits with the Spears School of Business

The Oklahoma State University School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) is set to join the OSU Spears School of Business since the OSU/A&M Board of Regents approved the move on March 1. Previously a part of the College of Human Sciences, the school is expected to create more synergy for collaborative educational efforts between HTM and business degree programs. The move takes effect July 1.

Oklahoma State University has been recognized as having one of the top 10 online master’s in educational technology degree programs by College Values Online. Selection criteria includes accreditation, rankings in major publications and affordability. Fifty schools were chosen and ranked based on raw affordability, and OSU came in ninth on the recently published list.
