The event, now a time-honored tradition, serves as a powerful tribute to the 343 firefighters and first responders who gave their lives trying to save others on Sept. 11, 2001.

Researchers in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology are beginning a three-year project to develop advanced solar-powered desalination technology to treat produced water from the oil and gas industry. Negative aspects of produced water are that it can include things like oil, grease and salts. It can also contain dissolved gases and radioactive materials.
