Cancer Sucks donations vital to OSU-CHS cancer research

Professor of Immunology Rashmi Kaul, Ph.D., has been studying and researching infectious disease and cancer development and how the two are connected for more than 20 years. For the last 16 years, nonprofit organization Cancer Sucks Inc, and its founder Rick Horton, have donated more than $300,000 to Kaul's research enabling her to purchase state-of-the-art equipment for her lab and aiding in securing additional funding and resources for her research.

Christy Eslinger, a Biomedical Sciences doctoral student, was a paramedic for 20 years before pursuing a career as a researcher. Her work into IBD earned her first place in the OSU system-wide Three Minute Thesis competition, the first time an OSU Center for Health Sciences student has taken the top spot.
