OSU Institute of Technology’s Nursing students will celebrate graduation and bond with school tradition during the pinning ceremony on April 19, at 10 a.m. in Covelle Hall. This spring graduation will bring the largest graduating class of Nursing students since the program began.

OSU Institute of Technology’s 212th Commencement ceremonies will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019. The ceremony will be held at Covelle Hall, on the south side of campus off Fourth Street. Doors will open for visitors at 12:45 p.m. for the 2:00 p.m. ceremony.

This year’s OrangeFest, on April 12 in downtown Okmulgee, combines a community homecoming celebration with family-friendly activities for all ages.

OSU Institute of Technology and Okmulgee Main Street have teamed up once again to put on the annual OrangeFest festival in downtown Okmulgee, Friday, April 12.  This free community event will begin at 4 p.m. and end around 11 p.m. and features everything from live music, food trucks and a beer garden to a mechanical bull, lawn games, inflatables and the annual Glo Run 5K.

Creating their take on meatloaf in this head to head challenge is Chef Jennifer Booker, OSUIT alumna, owner and executive chef of Your Resident Gourmet in Atlanta, GA and Chef Elizabeth Howe, Oklahoma Market Chef of US Foods.

This time next year, the Higher Learning Commission will conduct a site visit to OSU Institute of Technology as part of the campus’s 10-year accreditation cycle. Set for March 9-10, 2020, a team of peer reviewers from HLC will visit OSUIT for an in-depth evaluation of how the campus meets the five accreditation criteria.

ART Plus will take place on Friday, April 5, from 5 to 9 p.m., at Fly Loft located at 117 N. Boston Ave. #208, in the Tulsa Arts District. The event is during the monthly First Friday Art Crawl event which features all galleries, studios and museums opening their doors to show art.

OSU Institute of Technology President Bill R. Path was recently honored with the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Shirley B. Gordon Award of Distinction. The award is given to college presidents who have shown strong support of student success on their campus.
