Every summer, OSU Institute of Technology’s weeklong Emerging & Converging Technologies Summer Academy works to spark young minds with an interest in STEM careers. The summer academy, funded by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, shows eighth through 10th graders how specifically math and science are immersed into all types of careers.

Four students and a faculty member from OSU Institute of Technology took on the challenge of visiting three countries in the British Isles in 11 days. The study abroad trip included time in Ireland, Wales and England. The students who participated earned humanities credits and a lifetime of memories.

The 2017 Outstanding Faculty and Staff Awards were announced Tuesday night at the annual Employee Banquet. Jamie Diggins, nursing instructor, was given the Outstanding Faculty Award. Outstanding Certified Staff Award went to Eric Covey, public relations coordinator in the Office of Marketing & Communications, and Bo Hudson, director of Residential Life and chief conduct officer, was recognized with the Outstanding Professional Staff Award.

OSU Institute of Technology will recognize eight outstanding alumni and induct them into the OSUIT Hall of Fame at the annual Alumni Homecoming Reception Saturday, June 17, at 4 p.m. in Covelle Hall on the campus of OSUIT. Induction into the Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed by OSUIT, recognizing alumni and former students for outstanding achievement in both civic duty and professional life.

Becky Kirkbride spent three decades developing and cultivating the OSU Institute of Technology Library. She retired in 2002 and this year she established the Rebecca Kirkbride OSUIT Library Fund, an endowment to support the campus library.
