OSU-CHS hosts North Hall ribbon-cutting, celebrates med school 50th anniversary

OSU Center for Health Sciences commemorated the opening of the campus’ newest building North Hall with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, as well as celebrated the 50th anniversary of the OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine during an event Thursday, July 28, in the lobby of the new facility.

Med student takes oath at Navy commissioning ceremony on OSU-CHS campus

Ricken, a first-year medical student, was commissioned and sworn into the Navy as an ensign on April 15 at Cowboy Park on the OSU Center for Health Sciences campus. She was administered the Oath of Office by Dr. Stacy Chronister, an OSU-COM alumna, clinical assistant professor and former lieutenant commander in the Navy.

Alum John Barson looks back at his father's legacy, his journey with the school

In OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine’s 50-year history, no one has quite the same perspective as Dr. John V. Barson. His father, John W. Barson, was the founding president of the institution, which was established as the Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in 1972. Four years later he was a medical student at the same school where his father was president.
