The Oklahoma State University student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) has been awarded the Outstanding Student Chapter Award by the national chapter of AIChE. The award will be presented at the 2018 Annual AIChE Student Conference in Pittsburgh, Pa. on Oct. 26.

Carl Robertson, OSU alumnus, has announced a $2.5 million estate gift to the school of chemical engineering in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University. This is the largest individual gift in the history of the school.

Sarah Desharnais, a chemical engineering senior in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University, was named the first OSU student to receive the 2018 John J. McKetta Undergraduate Scholarship Award by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). Desharnais will receive the award, which includes a $5,000 scholarship, at the 2018 Annual AIChE Student Conference in Pittsburgh on Oct. 26. Only one student nationwide is awarded this honor each year.

Dr. Jim Smay, an assistant professor of chemical engineering at Oklahoma State University, has received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), the U.S. government’s foremost recognition of the nation’s most promising young scientists and engineers.
