IEM professor looking to make digital twin model to improve almond production

Professor Lizhi Wang of the School of Industrial Engineering and Management at Oklahoma State University has been awarded a grant from the U.S. - Israel Binational Agricultural Research and Development Fund (BARD). In collaboration with a team of researchers from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and the Agriculture Research Organization in Israel, Wang will work on the development of a digital twin model for almond trees for this grant.

OSU's Ramesh to explore 3D printing innovations with NASA scientists

Dr. Sri Ramesh, assistant professor for The School of Industrial Engineering and Management in The College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University, has been awarded a NASA Established Program to Simulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) travel grant. The grant provides funding for faculty to spend up to three days and two nights with NASA scientists to explore research collaboration and forge direct partnerships at NASA Centers and Mission Directorates.

Oklahoma State University’s Dr. Gopan Krishnan of the Department of Chemistry and Dr. Joshua Ramsey of the School of Chemical Engineering — along with their teams of students — recently published NIH-funded biomedical research that garnered the attention of two prestigious journals. The American Chemical Society (ACS) journal, ACS Measurement Science, featured “Colorimetric Hybridization Sensor for DNA Mimic of a SARS-CoV-2 RNA Marker: Direct and Inverse Bioanalysis” as a supplementary cover in September 2024 and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Journal, Sensors and Diagnostics put “Visual Colorimetric Insulin Detection in Human Serum” on its October 2024 cover.

MAE Ph.D. candidate wins first in Big City/High Tech category of Riata Center competition

Soroosh Farsiani, a Ph.D. candidate in CEAT’s School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, won first place in the Big City/High Tech category in the 2025 Riata Center for Entrepreneurship’s Business Plan competition. He has developed breakthrough multi-axis 3D-printing technology called SCIVINCE to overcome limitations posed by current 3D printing methods.
