While most Mondays are easily forgotten, that was not the case for Jordan Webb, graduating elementary education senior in the Oklahoma State University College of Education, Health and Aviation, who was surprised with a life-changing gift on Monday afternoon. Bryan Close, OSU alumnus, announced that he was paying off Webb’s student loan debt through a scholarship award.

The Oklahoma State University Alumni Association honored its 2007 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients on Sept. 22 at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center in Stillwater. The award is presented to alumni for professional achievement and community service.

Thirty-nine Oklahoma State University seniors were selected as Seniors of Significance for the class of 2006-07. A public reception honoring the Seniors of Significance was held on Nov. 16 in the Click Family Alumni Hall at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Association.

Dr. Jerry Gill, president and CEO of the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association, has announced that he will retire on July 1, 2007, after 22 1/2 years as the association’s chief executive officer and 34 years of service to OSU.

Friday, the OSU Alumni Association thanked donors and dedicated the privately funded $17 million ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center. OSU also announced plans for a spectacular “Housewarming” event before the first home football game on Sept. 3.
