Alumni return to Stillwater to perform at McKnight Center

Bill Scott Sheets is just one of a few alumni who will be making their McKnight debuts: vocalist Sarah Coburn will finally get to perform after her show was canceled last year and French hornist Ernesto Tovar Torres will be on stage with the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Oklahoma State University’s commencement ceremonies returned indoors Saturday for the first time in two years as Chancellor Allison Garrett of the State’s Regents for Higher Education delivered the keynote address. OSU President Kayse Shrum presided over her first graduation, making the 143rd commencement the first all-female-led ceremony in OSU’s history.

OSU first school in state with bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language

This fall, OSU received approval to make its American Sign Language (ASL) major into a bachelor’s degree program, which is crucial for students who want to learn interpreting and also teach ASL nationwide. ASL was previously only offered as a minor.
