In 2007, Keith Teague took his first trip to Asia, visiting industries and political groups in Vietnam to discuss economic development and education. Today, Teague, a professor in the school of electrical and computer engineering at OSU, leads study abroad trips each year to Japan.

Subhash Kak, regents professor and emeritus of electrical and computer engineering at Oklahoma State University, was awarded The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) Award for the advancement of Dharmic Arts & Sciences for 2019 on June 24, 2019 on the Capital Hill of the Congress in Washington DC. The award is presented to individuals for their continuous work to educate Americans at large about Hindu traditions through the promotion of Dharmic arts and sciences.

Oklahoma State University Regents Professor and Bellmon Professor of optoelectronics Daniel Grischkowsky was on the team of IBM scientists that, in 1986, broke the "picosecond barrier" by combining a laser and an electronic switch to produce electrical pulses that lasted one trillionth of a second.
