Balancing water quality and the bottom line

Addressing water quality and quantity issues are complicated, especially in Oklahoma where water is a divisive issue. Providing clean water for drinking and enough water for agricultural, lawns and landscaping, recreational and industrial use are all hotly debated. But a concern that few people want to think about is how to treat wastewater efficiently and safely.

Kristal Soderstrom Junkens and Sarah Ayres, College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology Student Services Advisors, won the Best of State designation for their presentations during the Oklahoma Academic Advising Association (OACADA) Fall Conference in October 2018. This honor allows the two to present at the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) Region Seven Conference in San Antonio, Texas in March 2019.

Andrea Haken selected as reviewer of master certification

Industrial Assessment Center at Oklahoma State University celebrates 1,000th Industrial Assessment milestone

On Dec. 4, 2018, OSU celebrated its 1,000th industrial assessment/energy audit milestone performed by OSU’s Industrial Assessment Center (IAC). IAC team members, acting and retired faculty, OSU administrators, officials from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Rutgers University, and Wichita State University gathered at CEAT’s newest undergraduate laboratory, ENDEAVOR, to celebrate. The industrial assessment/energy audit was performed the following day at ASCO Aerospace.

Jesse Langston graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1985, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Langston came to OSU with a scholarship intended for minorities in the engineering field. In the 1980s, it was difficult for minority students to get into the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math industry. This scholarship program recruited and retained Oklahoma talent in minority groups to become successful in their future engineering careers.
